Gene Kim
Author, Researcher, and Founder of IT Revoluti
Gene Kim is a multi-award winning CTO, researcher, and author. He is the founder of Tripwire and served as CTO for thirteen years. His books include The Phoenix Project, The DevOps Handbook, Beyond the Phoenix Project, Accelerate, The Visible Ops Handbook, and Visible Ops Security.
Gene is a huge fan of IT operations and how it can enable developers to maximize throughput of features from “code complete” to “in production” without causing chaos and disruption to the IT environment. He has worked with some of the top Internet companies on improving deployment flow and increasing the rigor around IT operational processes. In 2007, ComputerWorld added Gene to the “40 Innovative IT People to Watch Under the Age of 40” list, and he was named a Computer Science Outstanding Alumnus by Purdue University for achievement and leadership in the profession.

John Willis

John Willis has worked in the IT management industry for more than 35 years. Currently he is the CEO & Founder of Botchagalupe Technologies. He formerly held positions as the Vice President of DevOps and Digital Practices at SJ Technologies and Director of Ecosystem Development at Docker. Prior to Docker, Willis was the VP of Solutions for Socketplane (sold to Docker) and Enstratius (sold to Dell). Prior to to Socketplane and Enstratius, Willis was the VP of Training and Services at Opscode, where he formalized the training, evangelism, and professional services functions at the firm. Willis also founded Gulf Breeze Software, an award-winning IBM business partner, which specializes in deploying Tivoli technology for the enterprise. Willis has authored six IBM Redbooks on enterprise systems management and was the founder and chief architect at Chain Bridge Systems.
ohn Willis is Vice President of DevOps and Digital Practices at SJ Technologies. Prior to SJ Technologies he was the Director of Ecosystem Development for Docker, which he joined after the company he co-founded (SocketPlane, which focused on SDN for containers) was acquired by Docker in March 2015. Previous to founding SocketPlane in Fall 2014, John was the Chief DevOps Evangelist at Dell, which he joined following the Enstratius acquisition in May 2013. He has also held past executive roles at Opscode/Chef and Canonical/Ubuntu. John is the author of 7 IBM Redbooks and is co-author of the “DevOps Handbook” and the upcoming Beyond the Phoenix Project. Dr. Nicole Forsgren

Nicole Forsgren is the DORA Lead at Google. She is best known for her work measuring the technology process and as the lead investigator on the largest DevOps studies to date. She has been a professor, sysadmin, and performance engineer. Nicole has been awarded public and private research grants (founders include NASA and the NSF), and her work has been published in several peer-reviewed journals. Nicole earned her PhD in Management Information Systems from the University of Arizona, and she is an Academic Partner at Clemson University and Florida International University.

Erik Costlow

Erik is a software security expert with extensive Java experience. He manages developer relations for Contrast Security and public Community Edition. Contrast weaves sensors into applications, giving them the ability to detect security threats based on how the application uses its data. Erik was the principal product manager in Oracle focused on security of Java 8, joining at the height of hacks and departing after a two-year absence of zero-day vulnerabilities. During that time, he learned the details of Java at both a corporate/commercial and community level. He also assisted Turbonomic’s product management team to achieve $100M annual revenue in data center / cloud performance automation.
Erik lead product management for Fortify static code analyzer, a tool that helps developers find and fix vulnerabilities in custom source code. He has also published several developer courses through Packt Publishing on data analysis, statistics, and cryptography.
